To authorize your Sony Reader with CONNECT eBooks please follow the steps below:

Install the CONNECT reader software provided with your Sony Reader or download it from our website .
Click on the eBook store icon located in the left navigation frame.
Register for a CONNECT eBook store account or log in to your existing account if you already have one.
Connect your Portable Reader via provided USB connector to your PC. The Reader will appear in the left frame.
Click on Account.
Once in your Account go to Manage Devices in the Device Details section.
Your Portable Reader will be located here. Click on Authorize Device to authorize your Reader with your account.

Terms and Conditions of Offer For $149 Towards Purchase at CONNECT™ eBooks ("Offer?):

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFER YOU MUST PURCHASE A SONY® READER AND COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING AT CONNECTTM eBOOKS (the "Service" or "CONNECT eBooks"), ACCESSIBLE AT http://ebooks.connect.com (the "Site") BETWEEN MAY 1, 2007 AND JULY 31, 2007:
(i) register for a CONNECT eBooks end user account; and
(ii) authorize your Sony® Reader.
$149 credit is good for the following: 1) $50 toward any eBook title, and 2) $99.50 toward any CONNECT eBooks Classics title published by Sony CONNECT under the "CONNECT eBooks Classics? imprint (the "CONNECT eBooks Classics?) (collectively, the "Credit?).
Following proper registration, the Credit will be applied to your CONNECT eBooks account.
YOUR CREDIT MUST BE SPENT ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 31, 2007; ANY UNUSED CREDIT AMOUNT REMAINING AS OF AUGUST 31, 2007 AT 12:00:00 A.M. PST WILL EXPIRE AT THAT TIME.
Registration for a CONNECT eBooks end user account ("Account?) requires that you do all of the following:
    (i) download the most current free CONNECT Reader software application (the "Software"), available at the Site or through the CD ROM distributed with your Sony Reader device;
    (ii) accept and agree to the Software End User License Agreement for the Sony Reader device; and
    (iii) accept and agree to the CONNECT eBooks End User License Agreement, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy available at the Site.
You may use your Credit only toward eBooks downloaded through CONNECT eBooks as Credit is specified above. If any downloads from CONNECT eBooks exceed the remaining balance of your Credit, you must otherwise pay the balance using a credit card, a CONNECT eBooks gift certificate, CONNECT eBooks pre-paid card or CONNECT eBooks discount coupon. You may not apply your Credit toward previous purchases or downloads.
Limit one (1) Credit per Sony Reader device. For purposes of the Offer, you may only register your Sony Reader device at the Site one time.
Limit one (1) Credit per Account/individual.
Must be at least 13 years old to participate in the Offer; however, parental approval and participation is strongly encouraged for any child not of the age of majority in their state of residence.
Valid for U.S. residents only.
Normal Internet Service Provider charges may apply. Offer does not cover any charges associated with Internet access.

Sony CONNECT may void Credit when applicable Sony Reader device is de-authorized. Once applied to a CONNECT eBooks account, Credit may not be transferred to a different account.
Sony CONNECT reserves the right to close your CONNECT eBooks accounts and request alternative forms of payment from you if Sony CONNECT believes you have (i) committed fraud in connection with the Offer, or (ii) violated or abused these terms or any other Sony CONNECT terms or conditions. Sony CONNECT may void your Credit if you return your Sony Reader device authorized at CONNECT eBooks in connection with the Offer.
Additional transfer and use restrictions on downloaded files may apply and are as disclosed on the Site.
Sony CONNECT, CONNECT eBooks and Sony CONNECT's licensors reserve the right to remove or expire content at the Site at any time and without notice.
